《般若波羅蜜多心經》 唐·三藏法師玄奘譯

 <<心經>>有諸多譯本,當中以玄奘法師漢譯本流通最廣,共260字。下面所依據的文本即是。句讀或有不同,但無妨;因為依據不同的體會與理解而有不同。

不管是書法家歐陽詢、王羲之或趙孟頫,都書寫過心經。短短數行,涵攝修持的重心--就是要知道自己是誰、活成自己本來面目--佛/覺者。不管是書寫或翻譯或流通,都希望以此讚頌/感恩在2600年前那位印度的覺醒者告訴我們離苦得樂的方法,並感恩玄奘法師等譯師將佛的日常言行透過文字傳達給後代的我們,讓即便現在已經物換星移,本師釋迦牟尼佛已經離開了地球2568年,此時看似身處不同時空,但在意識海中,我們與佛陀或與其他聖者的心,都還是一樣、無二的。

The Heart Sutra

觀自在菩薩。行深般若波羅蜜多時。照見五蘊皆空。度一切苦厄。(觀自在菩薩,當修習深契般若波羅蜜多時,能明照看到五蘊都是空的,從而超越一切痛苦與困境。)

When Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva practices deep Prajnaparamita, 

perceives that the five aggregates are all empty, and transcends all suffering and difficulties.

舍利子。色不異空。空不異色。(舍利子啊,色與空並無差異,色即是空,空即是色,)

Shariputra, form is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from form.

色即是空。空即是色。

Form is emptiness, emptiness is form.

受想行識。亦復如是。(這也適用於受、想、行、識。)

換句話說就是: 

色不異空。空不異色。色即是空。空即是色。

不異空。空不異即是空。空即是

不異空。空不異即是空。空即是

不異空。空不異即是空。空即是

不異空。空不異即是空。空即是

Sensation, perception, volition, and consciousness are also like this.

舍利子。是諸法空相。(同樣地,諸法皆具備空的特質,)

Shariputra, all phenomena are characteristics of emptiness,

不生不滅。不垢不淨。不增不減。(無生、無滅、無垢、無淨、無增、無減。)

not born or extinguished, not stained or pure, not increasing or decreasing.

是故空中無色。無受想行識。(因此,空中沒有色相,沒有受、想、行、識,)

Therefore, in emptiness, there is no form, sensation, perception, volition, or consciousness.

無眼耳鼻舌身意。(沒有眼、耳、鼻、舌、身、意,)

No eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, or mind.

無色聲香味觸法。(沒有色、聲、香、味、觸、法。)

No color, sound, smell, taste, touch, or object.

無眼界。乃至無意識界。(沒有眼界,直至無意識的界限,)

No realm of sight until no realm of consciousness.

無無明。亦無無明盡。 (沒有無明,也沒有無明的終結,)

No ignorance, and no end to ignorance.

乃至無老死。亦無老死盡。(無老死,同樣無老死的終結。)

Until no old age and death. No end to old age and death.

無苦集滅道。(沒有苦、集、滅、道,)

No suffering, accumulation, cessation, or path.

無智亦無得。以無所得故。(沒有智慧,也沒有獲得。正因為無所得,)

No wisdom and no attainment because there is nothing to attain.

菩提薩埵。依般若波羅蜜多故。心無罣礙。無罣礙故。無有恐怖。遠離顛倒夢想。 (所以菩提薩埵。因著般若波羅蜜多的修持,心無障礙,無障礙因而無恐怖,遠離了錯亂的幻想。)

Thus, the Bodhisattva, relying on Prajnaparamita, has no obstacles in the mind. Without obstacles, there is no fear.

究竟涅槃。(達到最終的涅槃,)

Far beyond deluded thoughts, this is ultimate Nirvana.

三世諸佛。依般若波羅蜜多故。得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。(三世諸佛也是藉由般若波羅蜜多而得到阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。)

All Buddhas of the past, present, and future, relying on Prajnaparamita, attain the highest perfect enlightenment.

故知般若波羅蜜多。是大神咒。是大明咒。是無上咒。是無等等咒。(因此,了解般若波羅蜜多是一種強大的神聖咒語,是明亮、最上乘的咒語,)

Therefore, know that Prajnaparamita is a great spiritual mantra, a great illuminating mantra, a supreme mantra, and an unequalled mantra.

能除一切苦。(能夠消除一切苦難。)

It can eliminate all suffering.

真實不虛故。說般若波羅蜜多咒。即說咒曰。(這不是虛幻的,所以是真實的。稱之為般若波羅蜜多咒。咒文如下:)

It is true, not false. That is why the Prajnaparamita mantra is spoken. Speak the mantra: 

揭諦揭諦。波羅揭諦。波羅僧揭諦。菩提薩婆訶。

Gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha.

願消三障諸煩惱  願得智慧真明了

May the removal of the three obstacles and all afflictions be achieved,

and may true wisdom be fully realized.

讓我們共同祈願消除一切阻礙和煩惱,並且得到智慧的真正明了。

普願罪障悉消除  世世常行菩薩道

May all karmic hindrances be universally eliminated,

and may the path of the Bodhisattva be followed in every life.

共同祈願普遍消除一切罪障,世世代代持續走在菩薩的道路上。
